Phish...in the ATL

Chad: "Hey babe, wanna go see Phish in June in the ATL?"
Cory: "Why yes, I would love to go! Let's get some tickets!"

And that is the story of how it began. We took our act on the road this past week and headed to Florence (for a flock of family babysitters) and then on to HotLanta for Phish and a Braves game. It's been awhile since I saw Phish non-pregnant and able to have a jolly good time, so I was more than pumped about the trip. With our new life with a baby we have realized we only have so much time and energy and yes...we have decided our favorite pastime of seeing Phish was definitely worth the efforts for the trip. Little Dubs had a 3 show tour of grandparents that watched him and the first night started with Big D a Low Country Boil and the Original Holder Haven Pool late night dip!


A road trip to ATL...here we go! We ended up meeting a lot of friends. It was CRAZY how we all knew each other...it felt like 7 degrees of Kevin Bacon and I was the AUB/UA connected Mrs. Bacon! Here are some of the interesting characters we surround ourselves with. Tip for a good life: It's good to have friends with the same interests! (i.e. music, tasty good beer, merriment in general).

The shows were a lot of fun...we had a great time and it was overall a B+ weekend. We did get stuck in some nasty weather Wednesday night that kind of "crunched the mellow" (ha, ha), but we all in all enjoyed ourselves.

Next up...a surprise! My sweet Chad surprised me with a night at the Ritz Carlton in downtown ATL. Whaaaat??? My traveling man acquires a ton of Marriott points so this is a perk of the trade...free hotels! Ummm....I kind of want to live at the Ritz Carlton...anywhere really. I just love this hotel. Great service, quality everything, decor...it really has it all and surpasses your expectations every time. Thanks babe...nice touch!

The boys went to the Braves game and enjoyed themselves into some extra innings at Turner Field. All along I was sleeping in the room. Ahhh....I slept for 12 hours strait! It was wonderful...a little reading, a little wine and a little HGTV. Talk dirty to me baby! Oh yeah! :)

Great weekend! So good to see so many awesome people and spend some time with my hubby. It's great to get away and reconnect, but it was also AWESOME to see our Dubs and see him take some more of his first steps! I'm hoping to capture a video this next week of that...so more to come!
